Things You Don't Want To Think About On A Saturday Night
It's just a fact that most guys don't go out on Saturday night looking for a wife. Although girls are the first things on their minds, commitment is the last. Beware, guys, girls don't always think the same, though.
Nothing is true for everyone, but in general we're all alike. Guys generally don't think about committing to a relationship until they're head over heels in love. Before that, all they've got on their minds is sex, pure and simple. Ask a thousand single guys to raise their hands if they have ever given a single thought to solitaire engagement rings and not one will raise his hand.
Take a poll of women, though, and ask them if they have ever found themselves dreaming about princess cut engagement rings and you would get a lot of positive responses. Women think about engagement and marriage; men do not.
That men ever enter into a long term relationship with women is a clever trick of nature. Somehow, a one night stand turns into an obsession and a guy can't live without her. He is willing to give up everything for just one woman and go the whole distance. It may be a form of madness, but it's what makes life work.
You've got to remember that there was a time when women didn't have access to birth control. If they had sex, the odds were that they would get pregnant. Therefore, they were very careful about their choice of partners and made the marital commitment their highest priority. While birth control has taken some of the pressure off, the ancient biological imperatives remain.
Men on the other hand have always had the option of just disappearing if a baby comes along. The reason why they don't has mysterious roots. Set aside the morals we have been taught to abide by and you'll probably find that when a woman gets pregnant, a man feels an inescapable sense of responsibility for her and the unborn baby. Before that, though, all he wants is to get laid.
Squeeze all the pleasure out of your Saturday nights as you can, guys. You're engaging in a mating ritual that is as old as time itself. While you're standing in front of the mirror checking your new shirt out, the girls will be taking off their baggy girls sweatshirts and exchanging them for their sexiest outfits. You'll meet at the bar or the club and dance and flirt the night away. With a little luck, you'll get what your hormones were looking for.
One of these days, something's going to happen to change all that. You'll exchange your Saturday nights out on the town for a stint at changing the diapers. And you'll like it. That's just the way it works. Deal with it.
